I am the result of the dreams, prayers and blessings of my Great Great Grandparents

Sitting here doing some genealogy and thinking about being blessed with ancestors that were overcomers. I realize that I am only 4 generations out of Slavery. My Great Great Grandfather on my mothers side, Jubel Lee was born in 1832 in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He was born into slavery. In 1860 he took a wife, Christiana Louisiana Lyons (b.1842). They lived as man and wife but because they were slaves it was not a legal marriage. In 1865 they were emancipated and on August 18, 1866 in the state of North Carolina in Orange County they were legally deemed husband and wife. They had three sons (Papa George Thomas, my Great Grandfather), John and William and four daughters (Della, Kate, Christiana and Ellen). Papa Jubel died in January 1880 in North Carolina at the age of 48 from Typhoid Fever, just five months after Mama Christiana (age 38) died (August 1879) from Consumption (Tuberculosis).

I truly believe that I am the result of the dreams, prayers and blessings of my Great Great Grandparents. The prayers of our ancestors as in the time of Abraham and Moses ride along with the great cloud of witnesses as they watch over us and rain down those prayers, blessings and dreams upon us. Now what we do with them is the grand question. Our ancestors have expections of us. Are we living up to those expections and if we are not now is the time to Re-Turn to all that we know. All that lies deep in our DNA, Deep in our Souls and Deep in our Hearts. It is our responsibility to live the dreams that they had and to make the sacrifices they made for us worth it.
